Welcome Mothers and Daughters. Thanks for joining us Fathers and Sons. Friends, Family Members, Neighbors and co-workers searching on behalf of someone for Mother’s Day, it’s nice to have you visit, too. By thinking of this holiday, you’re doing far more than shopping. You’re making a difference in the lives of others.
Every day is a good one, isn’t it? Some just seem more significant than others. Mother’s Day is one of those days. Hopefully landing here on Aboutmothersday.com will make your day. This website is designed to help the holiday be easier and better for you, and of course for the special “Moms” you’re honoring and celebrating.
Interesting research has been done about Mother’s Day. It shows this national holiday is a time of the year when a mother wants to see signs she is appreciated. But more importantly, she actually expects it! A mother wants to see it and hear it. She wants to know it and believe it. She wants to feel it in her bones, in her mind, and ultimately in her heart that she did right by you. She did her best and her best was good enough.
Whether or not a woman is your birth mother or simply someone you know and love, your choice and actions recognizing the importance of her on this holiday genuinely contribute to her happiness. They help her to validate the choices she’s made in her life. They help her to fondly remember all of the ups and downs. They help her to accept the sacrifices and situations she’s experienced along the way. And they help her to appreciate the road traveled on the unique journey called “Motherhood.”
Mother’s Day: “It is what it is…”
Some people complain about the commercialism of holidays, including Mother’s Day. They claim this annual tribute was supposed to be sacred. They say the modern market has ruined the spirit of it. If you know one of those people, be sure to wish them luck. If they’re selling that argument to their own mother and choosing to not participate in the holiday they’ll need luck. Surely Mom won’t buy it. And even if she did, it would probably only be to prevent their child from being hurt. After all, that’s what most good mothers have committed the rest of their life to doing.
Truth be told, I have never heard one mother complain about the ways in which Mother’s Day in the 21st Century is celebrated. What mother wouldn’t simply enjoy the attention of being appreciated by those she loves? What mother who has given so much of herself wouldn’t enjoy receiving your modern gifts? It doesn’t feel wrong. Our intentions are good. The way we express our love and gratitude to mothers is just different.
It’s just the way we do things today. We buy fresh Mother’s Day Flowers online instead of picking wildflowers on a long walk across an open field. We buy nice Mother’s Day Gifts we know she’ll love instead of sewing something which would take weeks. We use smart phones and tablets instead of hand writing and mailing letters. We drive cars and watch TV. But that doesn’t make us bad. Much has changed in a century since Anna Jarvis saw her own mother’s dream for a holiday honoring mothers become a reality and a national treasure.
Introducing Mother’s Love
The only constant in life is change. And on this website we’re working to create even more positive change. It’s different than buying the standard high priced greeting cards. Your mother won’t be getting some unknown writer’s words or photographer’s pictures of people she doesn’t know. She’ll be getting what she loves from who she loves – a personalized gift from YOU.
This is why we’ve created our “Mother’s Love” section. We think it’s special. More importantly, we think mothers will, too.
Here’s why. On your own time and in your own words you can post whatever tribute you want about a mother. You can post photos, too. She can enjoy it right away, any time she wants. You can enjoy it too. And both of you can proudly share the link of your tribute so friends and family can also enjoy it quickly and easily. An added bonus is every mother’s tribute is shared with the world forever.
Faster. Easier. Longer lasting. Personalized.
There’s no more need for Mother’s Day Cards being filed away the very next day never to be seen again. Our Mother’s Love section will be online and on target every day of the year. It’s ideal for every Mom worthy of being celebrated for who she is and all she’s done.
Above all, a mother cherishes this holiday for how it can make her feel closer to you. But if you can’t be with her in person for whatever reason, the fact you thought of making Mother’s Day special and personal for her is the ultimate thank you she craves.
The world becomes a much smaller place when we celebrate Mother’s Day. Right here on this website, you can find what you need. That’s your goal. It’s our goal, too. Happy Mother’s Day.
